Outdoor Fitness Classes at Great River Park – easthartfordct.gov

East Hartford, CT – East Hartford Parks and Recreation is moving some of our most popular fitness programs outdoors to East Hartford’s beautiful riverfront this fall!  Eliza’s Energy Source and the East Hartford Holistic Chamber of Commerce, in conjunction with East Hartford Parks and Recreation, will offer outdoor classes at the Great River Park Amphitheater at 301 Great River Drive.  In case of inclement weather, live Zoom classes will be offered.  Participants who can’t attend the live Zoom class will be sent a recording of the class to use at their convenience.

Outdoor classes begin the week of September 20th and options include:

Cardio, Strength and Balance
This class is designed to improve coordination, agility, muscular strength, mental focus and breath awareness which calms the mind to reduce stress. Balance works strengthens your total body especially core muscles which improves your posture and stability.  Participants should bring a mat. 
Dates:  Tuesdays, Sept. 21st  – Nov. 9th
Time:  10:00 – 10:45am
Fee:  $40 for adults / $30 for participants ages 60 and older (pre-registration required)

Yogalates
Yogalates is a great opportunity to learn how to reduce stress, as well as improve concentration, mood, balance, and flexibility. Yoga’s ancient healing practice combined with mindfulness will calm and center the mind and body while mindfully enhancing body and breath awareness. You will learn yoga poses, mindful breathing, and pilates exercises to improve concentration, increase strength and flexibility. This will improve gross and fine motor skills, which will help everyone manage stress in their daily lives. To enhance your mindful yoga experience, you may also request a sample of doTERRA Essential Oils from the instructor to diffuse during your practice.  Participants should bring a mat.

Time:  5:30 – 6:15pm

Zumba
A fusion of Latin and International music and dance movements that creates a dynamic, exciting, effective fitness workout! Routines feature a total workout, combining all elements of fitness – cardio, muscle conditioning, balance, and flexibility, boosted energy each time you leave class. Dance steps are fun and easy to follow!
Dates:  Thursdays, Sept. 23rd – Nov. 11th
Time:  5:30 – 6:15pm
Fee:  $50 (pre-registration required)

Free Grounding Yoga Class
We are also offering a FREE Grounding Yoga Class with Dr. Eliza to celebrate Yoga Month!  This class uses mindfulness to enhance your connection to the earth, which will revive the way you think, feel, and communicate. This motivational grounding class will incorporate the aromatics of doTerra essential oils. Combining yoga with mindfulness and essential oils will deepen your grounding experience and improve your mental well-being.  This is a free class!
Date:  Wednesday, September 22nd
Time:  5:00 – 5:45pm
Fee:  FREE (pre-registration required)
